Recently went in for my eyes testing and it was absolute carnage in the shop and nowhere to stand then your in the way of people trying glasses on then when you get to the front the have you booked in for contact lenses rather than a normal eye test. The optician was fine it’s the rest of the service that failed, the older lady with blonde hair and glasses was very unprofessional and helpful and offered no advice or help whatsoever and pretty much just stood there staring at me, I was trying to ask about glasses and affordability and even if this selection was all they had which was very minimal and a lot of the cheaper frames have colours in them which unless your like 12 you wouldn’t want and offered no help with anything else or even if any other places would have a bigger selection. I didn’t even know what sort of glasses I needed or what for so how could I even make a choice on something and even contact lenses were not discussed, then there’s the sunglasses section which only have one lens in them so how can you get a feel of glasses with only one lens in them it’s just all a bit strange and zombie like with no enthusiasm or willingness to help you. I wasn’t even given a copy of my prescription which I only found out after that I should have been given but again this comes down to the lack of attention or willingness and judging by the other reviews this seems to be a pattern. I mean they are still sanitising every pair of glasses you try on so when your literally trying on everything and putting them in a box there’s nothing for others to try on and it just doesn’t work it’s all a little bizarre. I would not recommend and I’m still without glasses, very poor.

Great service at Specsavers armthorpe. Really efficient service. Didn't have to wait a round for long. My vision hasn't change much and I was happy to keep my glasses. There was no pressure to change them.

Such a friendly team. My glasses were not right. I was made to feel that my satisfaction with the product was the over-riding importance. I am totally happy and satisfied and would like to express my gratitute to the Armthorpe staff, especially, Gemma ,for the kindness shown and the understanding of my circumstances .

Amber has served me on my 3 recent visits and she has been a star, knowledgeable professional and good natured. She was extremely helpful in picking my frames, helped swayed me towards getting 2 pairs and recognised i needed a slightly wider frame for my head. She was thorough and quick dispensing explaining the process, she helped adjust my glasses to fit my nose when i collected them and I highly recommend asking for her if you visit, I know I will when I return.

Just been to collect my glasses & on the drive home, realised the lenses must be incorrect as steering wheel looked like it had moved into a different postion. Had to pullover, took glasses off & steering wheel was fine so clearly something wrong with the lenses. Now I have to spend my day off, at 30c returning to store to get it rectified! Didn't notice the lense disparity in shop.
